Yellow boat project

Describe:
The objects that I see are Jiane standing and smiling. The object (Jiane) is close but the pictures around the
object are far away. I think that the work is both figurative and abstract. Since the work is 3-D the outside image is figurative, the images in the inside are abstract.

Analyze:
I used dark tones contrasting light tones on this project to give the message of everything looking beautiful
on the inside but in all actuality inside everything is ugly and distorted. The main image is in focus but the
images inside of the main image is distorted.

Interpret:

The image is a combination of light and dark to represent a misinterpretation of ones feelings based on what
others see on the outside. The main picture was taken in the studio but some of the other pictures were taking
outside using natural lighting.

Judge:

In my opinion the work was successful in conveying my message but to improve this project I would want to make the main image bigger so that I could use more pictures.

The objects that are in the photo are four people wih different expressions. The

models are far away and the work is abstract. The models are posed differently and

have different expressions. The tone is black and white with little pops of color.

The image is in focus and it was intentionally done. The image is light to portray

stark details of confusion. The picture was taken outside because I needed stairs.

The picture represents how people can be tied together but feel different things.

I think that the work was successful in showing everything in focus and showing the

different emotions.

The objects I see are the bottom half of a man, a stuffed rabbit, and the legs of

a little girl. In the photo the bunny and the girl's legs are close to the camera

and the man's legs are father away, the work is figurative. The shape of both of the

sets of legs are posed in an awkward fashion, the tone is a dark tone. The girl's

legs are in focus but the man's legs are not letting the viewer have an insight on

the girl's feelings more than the man. What I was trying to communicate to the

audience in this photo was the horrors of child prostitution. This picture was taken

indoors. I used semi dark lighting(hot light)and a black background to portray the

darkness and evilness of child prostitution. I also included a red couch to

the feeling of alarm.

Although the photo gives the perfect response of shock, I feel

that it could have served its cause better if I had used a different model for the

girl's legs. The legs look to womanly and give the photo a sexually vulgar theme

more than a theme for a cause. I also think that the photo would have served its

purpose more if I had made the lighting a little darker.

DESCRIBE

OBJECTS I SEE: a guy doing break dancing tricks with his friends on the outside of
the mall.

ARE THE OBJECTS CLOSE OR FAR AWAY?: The objects are semi close.

FIGURATIVE OR ABSTRACT?: Abstract

ANALYZE

SHAPES AND TONES: The shape of the model is an abstract shape in the air and the
tones I used were bright vivid tones.

FOCUS?: The image is in focus and it was done intentionally to display the camera
function stop action.

INTERPRET

ABOUT THE IMAGE: What I was trying to convey to the audience is the feeling of being
carefree. The image is light to portray happiness and excitement.

TAKEN?: This photo was taken outside of the mall near the upper level parking lot.

JUDGE

I think that the photo is successful in portraying happiness and being carefree however, the photo could be so much better if I had paid more attention to what was in my background.

Walk On By

This is my blurry motion photo. When taking this photo I became acquainted with the shutter speed and of course iso. The iso I'm pretty clear with but the shutter speed.....well....im getting there (although i do know a lot more about it than i did before.)In this photo I wanted to portray the feeling of helplessness. To make this feeling visual I had my friends/classmates model for me I put a plastic cover down on the ground and asked her if she could lay down on it. I asked my other classmates to walk by her without looking at her. This photograph is basically about those days when you feel as if everyone is passing you by and you're stuck and without help. I like the idea of this photo but i feel it could be so much better in a different setting, with different clothes, and taken at a different angle.

A Quick Inconspicuous Glance

This is my shallow depth of field photo. For the photo my friends and I asked a random group of guys to be our models. (luckily they were super nice, especially since we asked them while they were eating... whoops. ^_^)The photo symbolizes attraction between males and females. The guys sitting there as the girls(my sister and Jiane) walk behind them quickly and inconspicuously glancing at them. In taking this photo I became familiar with the fstop camera function.
